The Falls Church Elementary PTA is participating in TV Turnoff Week 2011, next week, April 11-15. TV Turnoff Week, sponsored by TV-Turnoff Network (www.turnoffyourtv.com), is a week that children and parents pledge to spending their free time, reading, playing sports, working in their communities, spending time with family and friends, instead of watching TV. TV Turnoff Week is a great way to jumpstart kids into spring!

The following is a jam-packed calendar full of fun, optional events for parents and kids during the week (please note that the PTA does not provide supervision for these events):

Monday:

• Book Swap , 5:30-7:00 pm . Start the week by coming to pick out new books to replace the ones you donated to the swap! Mt. Daniel Multipurpose room.

Tuesday:

• Clare and Don’s Restaurant Night . Bring the flyer included in the Friday folder, have a night out, and benefit the PTA’s Teacher Grants Program!

Wednesday:

• Falls Church Community Center , 1:30-3:30 pm. , Open gym designated for K-4 grade.
• Reflections Reception & PTA Meeting, 7:00 pm . Bring your children to a reception in honor of this year’s Reflections participants. TJ Library.
• Mary Riley Styles Library , 7:00 pm . Poetry Slam Open mic night. Open to all poetry contest entrants. Poetry readings, food and prizes awarded to the winners.

Monday-Friday:

• Upton Hill Regional Park . Mini golf & batting cages—buy one, get one free. Just print and bring the coupons from the PTA website at fallschurchpts.org/tvturnoff.
• Free Admission to GMHS Sporting Event for Mt. Daniel and TJ students with a paying adult . Check out the schedule of events at www.masonathletics.org.
• Bowl America , Early Bird discount--$2.89/game every weekday until 6 pm .

• Fall Church Community Center , 3:00-5:00 pm . Open gym Youth designated hours (youth ages are up to 18 years).
